🚨 I'm a believer now 🚨

Earlier this week I got a notice from my phone that my wallet was no longer with me. I had just sat down at the eye doctor to get my glasses adjusted. A little panicked, I reached into my pocket to discover my keys were there, but no wallet. Opening the FindMy app on my phone, I could see that it located my wallet next to my car, which also has an AirTag (more on that later). I excused myself, hurried back to the parking lot, and immediately found my wallet, right where the app said it was. Fortunately, it had fallen out in the car, but what if it hadn't?

The cool thing about this particular item is that the wallet doesn't actually contain an AirTag. Instead, it has a 3rd party tag that works just like one. In fact, you register it with the phone exactly the same way as any other AirTag, works on Apple's FindMy network, and shows up in the app. The two big differences are that it isn't a bulky AirTag with a large battery, and it's rechargeable. When AirTags were first introduced, I resisted buying them. I simply couldn't see the value. Now, as I mentioned above, I'm a true believer. I'm quickly finding all sorts of uses for them: my luggage, my backpack, my bicycle, my keys, and yes, even my cars.
